WellDoc, a digital health company revolutionizing chronic disease management to help transform lives has announced the launch of ‘The Diabetes Digital Health Learning Network’ in collaboration with the American Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE). The Learning Network will support its members who are on the front lines of diabetes care and management by assisting diabetes educators in gaining next-generation skills in using digital health therapeutics to improve clinical care and outcomes cost-effectively. Recognized diabetes educator, AADE Past President and WellDoc Vice President of Clinical Advocacy, Malinda Peeples, RN, MS, CDE, FAADE, has been appointed to lead the network.
Earlier this summer, WellDoc and AADE engaged a select group of AADE members to begin onboarding their patients living with type 2 diabetes onto BlueStar. Already, Ms. Peeples has received invaluable feedback from the initial group of AADE members who said the following about the use of technology-enabled education and support, as well as the use of BlueStar. Also earlier this year, WellDoc and AADE announced a partnership that incorporated the AADE curriculum in BlueStar, marking the first time AADE has partnered with an organization to convert its curriculum into a consumer-friendly digital format.
“Educators are at the epicenter of technology and patient care, and are poised to be leaders in this era of value-based healthcare,” said AADE CEO Charles (Chuck) MacFarlane, FACHE, CAE. “We are taking a proactive approach through this Learning Network collaboration with WellDoc to enable our members to create a future in which they utilize technology to improve the care of and support to people with diabetes.”
