Einstein Healthcare to Deploy Teladoc Across Network Hospital System

Teladoc announced today that Einstein Healthcare Network (Einstein), a leading healthcare provider in the greater Philadelphia area, has chosen Teladoc telehealth technology and licensable solution across its extensive network hospital systems. The Teladoc’ Readiness Assessment tool was a driving factor in Einstein’s selection of Teladoc, and will be a key component in establishing a telehealth rollout beginning with 8,500 employees.

The Teladoc Readiness Assessment tool is unique to the industry, providing health systems with a consultative and interactive plan that leverages the Teladoc expertise as a telehealth innovator. The tool was a driving factor in Einstein’s selection of Teladoc, and is a key component in establishing the health system’s comprehensive telehealth rollout. The Readiness Assessment outlines a three-year telehealth roadmap, defining each phase, beginning with deployment to Einstein’s employees as a cost reduction measure. Cost savings are achieved by improving access to care that decreases the need for emergency room visits for non-urgent conditions.

For Einstein, telehealth is the viable path to addressing a range of priorities including employee healthcare, care coordination and chronic disease management. Reducing readmissions is also on the list of long-term telehealth goals. Einstein can prioritize these objectives and ensure the most effective rollout with the Teladoc Readiness Assessment Tool, which helped identify the deployment of the telehealth service to its 8,500 employees as a phase-one priority.

“Care delivery is changing, with telehealth being a necessary component today, and so Einstein Healthcare Network chose a telehealth partner with the experience, vision and long-term commitment to successfully guide us through this endeavor,” explained Dixie James, vice president, planning and business development at Einstein. “We are unwavering in our commitment to providing high-quality care to our patients, and the Teladoc clinical team, robust telehealth solution, and their unmatched behind-the-scenes operational support center assured our leadership that Teladoc was the right choice.”
