Geisinger Health System Taps Stanson Health for Next-Gen Clinical Decision Support

Geisinger Health System has selected Los Angeles, California-based Stanson Health to implement Stanson Health Clinical Decision Support and Stanson Analytics. Combined with relevant analytics, Stanson solutions safely guide physician decisions toward the elimination of unnecessary or inappropriate care and help improve the quality of care.

The Stanson catalog of several hundred clinical decision support interventions are geared toward assisting physicians at the point of care. Content is focused on important care opportunities such as MACRA, Choosing Wisely, Antibiotic Stewardship, Opioid Management, and more. Stanson analytics help executive leadership understand clinician reaction to evidence-based recommendations and result in industry-leading follow rates. The combination of clinical interventions and closed-loop analytics help provider organizations succeed in health care reform, ACOs, risk-based payments, exchanges, and narrow networks.

“As a high-performance health system, Geisinger provides innovation, quality and value to our patients,” said Alistair Erskine, M.D., Geisinger Chief Informatics Officer. “We’ve contracted with Stanson Clinical Decision Support to inject real-time, patient-specific intelligence directly into our electronic health record in order to help our physicians make evidence-based decisions to ensure better outcomes for our patients at a lower cost. We look to their analytics to help us monitor the performance of these interventions, benchmark physician response, and reduce overall alert fatigue.”

To date, Stanson supports more than 232 hospitals and support more than 67,000 providers
