3M Health Information Systems has acquired Semfinder, a Switzerland-based precise semantic medical coding technology company. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. For 3M, the acquisition will accelerate the availability of its 3M 360 Encompass System in countries adopting EMRs.
With the 3M 360 Encompass System, organizations merge clinical and financial data to analyze, supplement and proactively execute on key clinical and financial data—at the point of care—resulting in a significant impact on patient outcomes and hospital reimbursement. To date, more than 1,600 healthcare organizations across the country selected the 3M 360 Encompass System to unite their clinical documentation and coding workflows.
