Op-Ed Submission Guidelines

HIT Consultant Op-Ed Submission Guidelines

HIT CONSULTANT: Op-Ed Submission Guidelines

HIT Consultant seeks timely, provocative, and insightful commentary from senior healthcare technology executives, policymakers, and expert analysts. **Our Op-Eds drive the national conversation on how digital innovation and technology adoption are fundamentally reshaping care delivery, finance, and regulation.** Submissions must offer a compelling, original perspective on the business, political, or operational challenges shaping the modern healthcare economy.

I. Editorial Standards and Focus

The Core Mandate
  • Originality and Exclusivity: All Op-Ed submissions must be exclusive to HIT Consultant and represent the guest author’s original work. Content must not have been previously published or submitted for consideration elsewhere, including personal blogs, company websites, or professional networking platforms.
  • Thesis and Authority: The piece must articulate a single, clear, and debatable thesis about a current trend or policy issue in healthcare technology. It must offer deep insight and knowledge, moving beyond mere descriptive reporting to provide decisive analysis and recommendations.
  • Length and Scope: Submissions should target a range of 750 to 1,000 words. While longer posts (up to 1,500 words) may be considered, brevity and impact are valued. The focus must be strictly healthcare technology-related.
The Rule Against Promotion
  • No Self-Promotion: HIT Consultant strictly forbids the use of Op-Eds for promotional purposes or as advertorials. Submissions will be automatically rejected if they function as sales collateral.
  • Company Mentions: Authors must refrain from mentioning their company, products, or services within the body of the article. Any violations will result in automatic rejection or removal prior to publication.

II. Content Rigor and Formatting

Data and Sourcing
  • Verifiable Evidence: Arguments must be supported by verifiable data, statistics, and proper attribution. When citing third-party research, market data, or direct quotes, authors must provide clear sourcing.
  • Clarity and Polish: All articles must be rigorously reviewed for clarity, spelling, punctuation, and grammar prior to submission. Content that requires extensive editing may be rejected.
Supporting Materials
  • Visuals: Authors are strongly encouraged to include any high-resolution images, graphs, or figures that support the argument. These must be submitted as separate files with clear captions and source lines.
  • Author Credentials: Please include a concise 1-2 line author biography detailing the author’s title and company affiliation. A high-resolution headshot must be supplied for the byline image.
