Nordic, Microsoft, CHIME to Launch National Rural Health IT Community

What You Should Know

  • Global healthcare IT consulting firm Nordic® announced the opening of a new delivery facility in Mexico to expand its nearshore technical capabilities.
  • The Mexico facility will support core digital transformation domains, including Epic services, application managed services (AMS), cloud infrastructure, data and analytics, and emerging AI-enabled health system solutions.
  • Operating under newly appointed CEO Alicia Harkness, the expansion addresses widespread health system workforce shortages, rising IT operating costs, and escalating demands on technology investments.
  • The new facility functions as a direct extension of Nordic’s global team under a unified delivery model rather than an outsourced subcontractor framework.
  • Led in AMS execution by President of Managed Services Mickey Davis, the nearshore expansion builds on Nordic’s 16-year consulting foundation to deliver scalable expertise to health systems nationwide.

Beyond Domestic Staffing Limits: Nordic Expands Global Footprint with Mexico Delivery Facility

Nordic has opened a new global delivery facility in Mexico to expand its healthcare application managed services (AMS) and nearshore IT capabilities. The expansion aims to help health systems scale complex digital projects while managing rising labor costs and ongoing technical talent shortages.

Maintaining internal engineering teams for routine maintenance, electronic health record (EHR) optimization, and IT ticket processing has grown increasingly expensive for healthcare organizations. As health systems attempt to roll out new cloud infrastructure, analytics platforms, and AI tools, high domestic staffing costs often divert resources away from broader clinical transformation efforts.

The new Mexico facility operates as a direct nearshore extension of Nordic’s existing workforce rather than a third-party vendor. The integrated structure is designed to support core operational areas, including Epic system optimization, application management, cloud infrastructure, data analytics, and healthcare AI deployments.

By offloading routine maintenance and technical support to a nearshore team across the Americas, health systems can maintain operational continuity, improve ticket turnaround times, and free up domestic IT leadership to focus on higher-level strategic initiatives.

“As healthcare organizations continue to face workforce challenges, rising costs, and increasing demands on their technology investments, it’s important that we evolve alongside them,” said Alicia Harkness, CEO of Nordic. “By growing our global team, we’re expanding our ability to support leading health systems across the full spectrum of services, from Epic optimization and managed services to data, analytics, and AI-enabled transformation.”
