Office Ally Acquires Jopari Solutions to Expand Clearinghouse Network and Electronic Claims Processing

What You Should Know

  • Office Ally, a major healthcare technology clearinghouse, has acquired Jopari Solutions, a leader in straight-through electronic claims processing.
  • The financial terms of the deal (which included an exit for WestView Capital) were not disclosed.

Bridging the ‘Clinical Attachment’ Gap

Jopari specializes in the notoriously fragmented Property & Casualty (P&C), Workers’ Compensation, and Auto Medical markets. These sectors are notoriously paper-heavy because they require extensive “clinical attachments.” You cannot simply bill a code for a workers’ comp claim; you often have to attach the operative report, the imaging results, and the physical therapy notes to prove medical necessity. Historically, this meant printing hundreds of pages and dropping them in the mail or using a fax machine.

The company has built a highly durable infrastructure for handling electronic medical billing, complex clinical attachments, and electronic payments. Office Ally brings a massive scale to the table. Its all-payer clearinghouse network is trusted by over 80,000 healthcare organizations and facilitates more than one billion transactions annually.

“There is a genuine pattern match between our two organizations: both deeply customer-focused, and both built on the belief that healthcare infrastructure should be mission-critical and reliable,” said Christopher Hart, CEO of Office Ally. “Together, we have a real opportunity to reimagine clearinghouse rails by adding intelligence and automation across claims and payment cycles.”

The Strategic Synergy

The integration allows for immediate, high-value cross-selling. Office Ally’s web-based portal and payer gateway solutions will become available to Jopari’s network, while Jopari’s specialized clinical attachment products and digital disbursement capabilities will be extended to Office Ally’s massive provider base.

The Leadership Shift

Jopari Founder and CEO Steve Stevens is stepping away, while current Jopari President John Gilmartin will transition to Executive Vice President and General Manager of the Jopari business unit under the Office Ally umbrella.
