What You Should Know:

– Evidently, a clinical data intelligence platform, has launched Ask Evidently, an AI chat interface that embeds directly into any electronic health record (EHR).

– The new tool is designed to provide clinicians with a comprehensive understanding of the patient record through a verifiable and intuitive user experience. It’s the first product of its kind to be deployed at scale in collaboration with clinicians and AI Governance Committees at major health systems.

A Game-Changer for Clinical Workflows

Ask Evidently is built on Evidently’s AI foundation and vast clinical knowledge graph, which allows it to read all types of data in a patient’s record. This includes structured data like labs, vitals, and medications, as well as unstructured data such as clinical notes, scanned documents, and faxes. The platform understands the patient record longitudinally, combining data from inside the EHR with external systems like Care Everywhere.

Responsible AI and Future Potential

Evidently has worked closely with AI Governance committees to ensure a responsible AI rollout. Their approach includes organizational controls and embedded AI usage education for clinicians. This ensures that users are equipped to responsibly integrate generative AI into their workflows. Dr. Kalie Dove-Maguire, Chief Product Officer at Evidently, notes that the platform’s concept-centric framework is powerful because it allows a clinician to investigate a patient’s history of a condition, such as heart failure, in the context of contributing factors and related concepts across their whole health journey.
