What You Should Know:

–  Solera Health, the premier digital health delivery company creating flexible solutions to seamlessly connect people to on-benefit care via health plans and employers, today announced the launch of its Enhanced AI Governance Framework, a new system designed to ensure the responsible, transparent and ethical use of artificial intelligence (AI) across its partner ecosystem.

– As AI’s presence grows across all aspects of healthcare, organizations are faced with increasing scrutiny and pressure to ensure it is used responsibly and securely. The Solera AI Governance Framework sets a new industry standard that proactively addresses client concerns, regulatory compliance and risk mitigation.

Solera Launches Risk-Based Framework for Responsible AI in Digital Health

Solera Health has introduced a structured AI governance framework to ensure transparency, safety, and accountability in healthcare-related AI applications. Built on three pillars—Governance & Oversight, Privacy & Protection, and Security & Training—the system will be fully deployed across Solera’s partner network by Q3 2025.

Key Framework Components

• Governance & Oversight:
A cross-functional committee defines AI risk levels, mandates human-in-the-loop oversight, and conducts quarterly reviews of high-risk use cases, particularly those involving clinical decisions. All AI applications require client approval, clear documentation, and audit readiness. Partner governance maturity scores are expected to rise by at least 25% post-implementation.

• Privacy & Protection:
The framework enforces HIPAA-compliant access controls, authentication protocols, and legal/IP reviews of AI outputs. Safeguards prevent data misuse, IP infringement, and unauthorized access.

• Security & Training:
Security-first policies include BAAs, adversarial defenses, and regular risk assessments. AI systems must meet fairness standards, undergo bias testing, and achieve equity performance benchmarks. Solera aims to improve demographic parity by 20%+ by end-2025.

Advancing Responsible AI Use in Healthcare

Solera’s risk-based model addresses regulatory uncertainty by prioritizing explainability over black-box models and offering clear compliance pathways. “This charter focuses on transparency and accountability in high-stakes AI,” said Mike Levin, General Counsel and CISO.

To support long-term adoption, Solera is developing AI maturity scoring and compliance dashboards for HALO partners, launching Q1 2026.
