What You Should Know:

– WorkDone, a healthcare AI startup closes $1.8M in pre-seed funding round aimed at tackling one of healthcare’s most costly and persistent challenges: documentation errors in Electronic Health Records (EHRs).

– The round, which took place in April this year, saw backing from Pioneer Fund, DVC, Fjor, Ryan Chan, Eric Norman, and other notable early-stage investors.

Addressing a Costly Challenge in Healthcare Documentation

Inaccurate or incomplete clinical documentation is a significant pain point for healthcare organizations, often resulting in delayed insurance payments, increased administrative burden, and potential revenue leakage. WorkDone aims to directly address these issues with its innovative AI solution. WorkDone’s AI-powered compliance copilot integrates directly with hospital EHR systems using HL7, FHIR, and other industry protocols. It is designed to continuously monitor clinical workflows in real time to detect and resolve documentation issues—such as missed discharge notes or incorrect medication times—before they lead to denied insurance claims, compliance audits, or revenue loss.

WorkDone’s AI Copilot: Delivering Measurable Impact

WorkDone’s platform is built to deliver tangible benefits and a strong return on investment for healthcare providers. The company highlights several key areas of impact:

  • Accelerated Insurance Payments: By up to 20%, achieved by eliminating documentation gaps that delay reimbursement and cause resubmittals.
  • Reduced Provider Documentation Time: By 30%, enabling clinicians to dedicate more focus to patient care rather than administrative tasks.
  • Minimized Manual Audit Efforts: Eliminating 90% of the effort typically spent on manual chart audits by automating the flagging and fixing of documentation issues.
  • Revenue Recovery: Recovering up to 15% of a provider’s revenue that is commonly lost due to preventable claim denials, achieved through real-time issue resolution.

“We’re excited to see our solution already making a difference for hospitals and clinics nationwide,” said Dmitry Karpov, CEO of WorkDone. “Accurate documentation isn’t just a billing issue – it’s a foundation of quality care. We help ensure that what happens in care gets reflected correctly, in real time.”
