What You Should Know:

– Abridge announced that its AI platform to support clinical conversations will be utilized by Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) clinicians in an extensive rollout that will take place throughout 2025 and 2026

–  MSK previously piloted the Abridge AI platform in a viability study conducted by its Digital Informatics & Technology Solutions (DigITs) group through the MSK Innovation Hub program (iHub).

Abridge AI: Transforming Healthcare Conversations into Accurate Clinical Documentation

Founded in 2018, Abridge develops enterprise-grade AI solutions to enhance understanding in healthcare. Its platform converts medical conversations into clinically useful and billable documentation at the point of care, reducing administrative burden, mitigating clinician burnout, and improving the patient experience. With deep electronic health record (EHR) integration, multilingual support across 28+ languages, and coverage of over 50 specialties, Abridge operates across various care settings, including outpatient, emergency department, and inpatient environments.

Enterprise-Grade AI for Reliable and Responsible Clinical Documentation
Abridge’s AI platform is purpose-built for healthcare and is the only solution supported by Linked Evidence, ensuring AI-generated summaries are mapped to source data for easy verification. As a pioneer in generative AI for healthcare, Abridge is establishing the industry standard for responsible AI deployment across health systems.

Proven Accuracy in Oncology and Multilingual Settings
Abridge demonstrated its effectiveness during a pilot study conducted through Memorial Sloan Kettering’s (MSK) iHub program. Clinicians in hematology, head and neck surgery, and neurology validated its ability to accurately capture oncology-specific terminology, including disease names, treatment protocols, and drug names. With MSK’s diverse patient population, the platform was tested in Spanish, Chinese, and Russian, showcasing its multilingual capabilities. Findings indicate that Abridge successfully supports oncology encounters and is expected to further refine its performance through continued collaboration with MSK.

Enhancing Clinical Efficiency and Patient Engagement
Abridge empowers clinicians to focus on patient interactions without administrative distractions. According to Dr. Shiv Rao, Abridge CEO and Founder, the platform is designed to “reduce cognitive burden, improve patient experience, and create exceptional documentation for all medical conversations, including the long, complex encounters typical to oncology care.”

AI-Driven Contextual Documentation Across Leading Health Systems
Powered by the Contextual Reasoning Engine, Abridge’s speech recognition model automatically detects specialty, care setting, and language, delivering precise clinical documentation without requiring manual configuration. Leading institutions, including Duke Health, Johns Hopkins Medicine, Mayo Clinic, and UChicago Medicine, have validated the platform and are implementing it enterprise-wide to streamline clinical workflows and enhance documentation accuracy.
