What You Should Know:

– Philips, a leader in health technology, and Mass General Brigham (MGB), a healthcare system and research enterprise, announced a strategic collaboration to develop and deploy advanced data infrastructure and AI solutions.

– The goal of the  partnership aims to improve patient care by integrating and processing live healthcare data from various sources, creating a unified and actionable data ecosystem.

Advanced Data Infrastructure and AI Solutions for Improved Patient Care

Currently, healthcare providers often rely on fragmented data sources, leading to inefficiencies and challenges in delivering timely and effective care. This collaboration seeks to address this issue by leveraging Philips’ advanced technology platforms and MGB’s clinical expertise to create a near real-time data and insights ecosystem.

By combining real-time data with AI-powered analytics, this collaboration aims to:

  • Enhance clinical decision-making: Provide clinicians with a more complete and accurate picture of a patient’s health status, enabling more informed treatment decisions.
  • Improve efficiency: Streamline workflows and optimize resource allocation through data-driven insights.
  • Enhance patient safety: Identify potential risks and enable proactive interventions to prevent adverse events.
  • Accelerate research: Facilitate research and innovation by providing access to a rich and diverse dataset.

Initial Focus on Cardiac Care

The collaboration will initially focus on a research program analyzing real-time data from patients undergoing continuous heart monitoring. This research aims to improve the early detection of cardiac events and other critical health issues, potentially leading to faster treatment and improved outcomes.

“This collaboration between Philips and Mass General Brigham represents a significant step forward in the integration of advanced data analytics into clinical practice,” said Betsabeh Madani Hermann, Global Head of Research at Philips. “By developing predictive data analytics and AI algorithms, key tools for enhancing patient care, we’re empowering clinicians and supporting better care for more people.”
