What You Should Know:

–  Abridge has finalized an enterprise-wide agreement with Mayo Clinic to implement the AI-powered clinical documentation platform, starting with approximately 2,000 clinicians who serve over 1 million patients annually across a wide range of specialties and care settings.

–  This marks a significant expansion in the collaboration between Mayo Clinic and Abridge, building on the previously announced initiative to enhance nursing documentation workflows, which are being developed as part of the Epic workshop program.

Mayo Clinic Partners with Abridge to Advance AI-Driven Clinical Documentation

Mayo Clinic has partnered with Abridge, an AI-powered clinical documentation platform, to enhance clinician well-being and improve the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care. According to Dr. Amy Williams, Executive Dean of Practice at Mayo Clinic, “This collaboration aims to enhance our continuous innovation and empowers our clinicians to focus on what matters most—our patients.”

Rigorous Standards and Proven Impact

During the evaluation process, Mayo Clinic conducted a thorough clinical note quality assessment to ensure that Abridge-generated notes met its exacting standards. This rigorous validation underscores Abridge’s ability to deliver accurate, reliable documentation that aligns with the clinic’s commitment to excellence in patient care.

Growing Adoption Across Leading Health Systems

Abridge is becoming a preferred solution for enterprise-wide deployment across major healthcare systems nationwide. Key adopters include:

   •       Top Institutions: Johns Hopkins Medicine, Emory Healthcare, Yale New Haven Health System, UPMC, and The University of Kansas Health System.

   •       Broad Implementation: Organizations such as CHRISTUS Health, Sutter Health, Corewell Health, and University of Vermont Health Network.

In addition to these deployments, Abridge has established collaborations with Wolters Kluwer, OpenNotes, and other prominent healthcare organizations, further enriching its ecosystem.

Strategic Growth and Investment

In early 2024, Abridge announced a $150 million Series C financing round, featuring a strategic investment from NVIDIA. This funding will accelerate the platform’s development and integration of advanced AI technologies, solidifying its position as a leader in clinical documentation innovation.

By automating and enhancing clinical documentation, the collaboration between Mayo Clinic and Abridge exemplifies the potential of AI to reduce administrative burdens, improve provider well-being, and maintain a strong focus on patient-centered care.
