What You Should Know:

– LiveFreely Inc., a digital health technology company focused on empowering seniors and their caregivers, has acquired Sompo Horizon, a caregiving benefits provider and subsidiary of Sompo Holdings.

– The strategic acquisition will enable LiveFreely to expand its reach and enhance its platform with integrated caregiving solutions.

Enhancing the Circle of Care

LiveFreely’s flagship product, the BUDDY application, provides seniors with an AI-powered personal health assistant that offers:

  • Real-time health monitoring: Tracks vital signs and provides alerts for potential health issues.
  • Fall prevention: Predicts and helps prevent falls, a leading cause of death among seniors.
  • Geographic boundary monitoring: Ensures seniors’ safety within designated areas.

By integrating BUDDY with Sompo Horizon’s CareGo solution, LiveFreely can now offer a more comprehensive and integrated platform for seniors and their caregivers. CareGo provides:

  • Digital platform: A centralized hub for managing caregiving tasks and information.
  • Concierge support: Personalized assistance and guidance for caregivers.
  • Partner network: Access to a network of healthcare providers and resources.

Acquisition Impact

This acquisition positions LiveFreely for significant growth, particularly in Japan and the Asia-Pacific region, where the demand for caregiving solutions is high. It also enables LiveFreely to expand its offerings in the mental health space, leveraging its predictive AI technology to address the growing need for mental health support among seniors.

“LiveFreely was founded with a mission to leverage AI and technology to transform the way families monitor seniors, today we are taking our dream to the next level,” said Daniel Jue, CTO and Co-founder of LiveFreely. “Today’s investment will provide us with the necessary means to scale our business and reach the full circle of caregiving, as we look to expand our product suite and our geographic footprint.”
