What You Should Know:

  •  Headlight, a tech-forward mental health practice committed to offering patients convenience and a simplified care journey, today announced $18 million in new venture funding, led by Matrix and EPIC Ventures.
  • Funding will help the company expand into additional states and add hundreds of new licensed therapists to their team by 2025. Prior to the transaction, Headlight added new executive leadership including Chief Executive Officer Geoff Swindle, former Chief Business Officer of PillPack and Amazon Pharmacy.

Transforming Healthcare: Headlight’s Innovative Clinician-Centric and Patient-First Approach

Swindle spearheaded teams that established strong partnerships with payers and developed an acclaimed customer care system in their role. With fresh funding and a revamped brand, Headlight is revolutionizing the healthcare landscape by making it remarkably easy for clinicians to practice and patients to access personalized care.

Founded by Drs. Manish Sheth and Shashita Inamdar, both MD-PhDs, Headlight prioritizes enhancing the clinician experience alongside patient care. The recent funding infusion will enable the company to enhance efficiency through technology, streamline workflows, and empower clinicians to deliver high-quality care. Their organizational structure promotes collaboration among clinical staff and engages them in important decisions. Clinicians, as W-2 employees, benefit from a connected culture emphasizing community, ongoing training, and credentialing, allowing them to stay informed about patient needs.

Headlight’s approach also emphasizes a patient-centric experience, aiming for simplicity, accessibility, affordability, and exceptional outcomes. Recognizing the often daunting onboarding process for mental health services, the company is leveraging its pharmacy expertise to launch streamlined and secure onboarding flows. By integrating patient medical and prescription history data, Headlight aims to provide comprehensive care and expedite clinical progress. Data-driven strategies will further enhance the therapeutic alliance by effectively matching patients with clinicians who meet their specific needs.

“Despite a proliferation of virtual services, 60% of adults in the U.S. who have sought mental health services still struggle to meet the most basic need[1]: a qualified clinician who accepts their insurance and understands their unique situation,” said Geoff Swindle, CEO. “Headlight focuses on helping patients get from initial interest in counseling to a well-aligned therapist and prescriber match faster and with less friction than existing options.”
