What You Should Know:

  •  Kyndryl, the world’s largest IT infrastructure services provider, today announced an agreement with Children’s National Hospital (Children’s National), one of the top five ranked children’s hospitals in the nation by U.S. News & World Report, to help support the technology experience for staff by reducing friction across all technical touch points.
  •  Children’s National cares for more than 240,000 patients each year across its main hospital and 32 specialty care and primary care offices throughout Washington D.C., Maryland and Virginia. It has more than 8,000 employees across the health system and each day, caregivers and staff depend on mission-critical systems to support their patients.

Enhancing infrastructural Facilities at Children’s National Hospital

In this agreement, Children’s National will enhance its IT health by utilizing tools like Kyndryl Bridge. Kyndryl, in turn, will employ artificial intelligence for IT operations (AIOps) and automation to proactively predict and prevent issues in network and security operations, reducing remediation time. The partnership involves modernizing and managing daily tools, such as Microsoft 365, to improve work efficiencies. Kyndryl will establish a dedicated IT desk at the hospital for swift, hands-on support. Furthermore, the collaboration aims to streamline Children’s National’s technology stack by eliminating redundant applications and technical debt, redirecting resources for higher-yield investments and facilitating future innovations like transitioning key workloads to the cloud.

“While we are not at the bedside, we carry the immense responsibility of supporting caregivers,” said Amy Salcido, President, Kyndryl US. “Our dedication to Children’s National goes beyond technology; it’s about enhancing the patient and caregiver experience through every touch point.”
