Tyto Care partners with Best Buy to launch TytoHome

TytoCare, an Israeli-based telehealth company is teaming up with Best Buy to make it easier and more convenient for customers to receive healthcare. Tyto Care’s TytoHome is now available exclusively on BestBuy.com for all customers and in select Minnesota Best Buy stores, with in-store availability coming soon in North Dakota, South Dakota, California, and Ohio.

TytoHome: How It Works

TytoCare’s On-Demand Medical Exam Kit Is Exclusively Available at Best Buy

TytoHome, available for $299.99, is a handheld examination device with attachments that can examine the heart, lungs, skin, ears, throat and abdomen, as well as measure body temperature, to enable remote diagnosis of acute care situations like ear infections, sore throats, fever, cold and flu, allergies, stomach aches, upper respiratory infections, coughs, rashes and more. TytoHome enables users to perform comprehensive medical exams and send the captured exam information to a primary care provider for a diagnosis. Users can connect with a provider 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year, no matter their location.

Imagine it’s 3 a.m. and one wakes up with an earache. With TytoHome, a user can turn on the device, examine the affected ear and have a clinician provide a diagnosis and prescription – all without a visit to the clinic during normal business hours.

At most, each TytoHome visit costs just $59, potentially even less depending on the visit and/or the user’s health insurance plan.

Partnerships with Additional Health Systems

Tyto Care works with experienced, quality telehealth platforms across the country including LiveHealth Online, powered by American Well®, the leading telehealth provider in the U.S. LiveHealth Online is the current telehealth provider for users who purchase TytoHome at BestBuy.com and reside outside of Minnesota, North Dakota or South Dakota. Also, through LiveHealth Online, select employers can offer the service to their employees and provide them with coupons to purchase TytoHome at Best Buy.

Tyto Care is partnering with additional regional health care systems to provide medical care to consumers throughout the country. The first partnership is with Sanford Health, one of the largest, not-for-profit health care systems in the U.S. Sanford Health will provide care to TytoHome users in Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota. These users will be able to connect with a Sanford medical provider for live, physician-guided exams and diagnosis.

Impact of Retail Partnership with Best Buy

The partnership is the latest example of Best Buy’s growing commitment to the health space and its dedication to improving the lives of its customers through technology. Last year, the company also acquired GreatCall, a leading provider of connected health and personal emergency response services to the aging population.

“We’re excited to partner with Best Buy, LiveHealth Online, American Well and regional health systems to extend our on-demand telehealth platform across the U.S., enhancing primary care delivery,” said Dedi Gilad, CEO, and co-founder of Tyto Care. “Tyto Care is combining increased convenience and accessibility with the power of a trusted retailer, health care providers, insurers and employers to deliver consumers the best that telehealth has to offer.”

The company recently closed a $33M Series C round earlier this year enable Tyto to gain further momentum in the US and to expand its reach to the Asian market, making high-quality healthcare accessible to the aging and rural communities of China and Japan from the comfort of home.
