Virtua Selets Teladoc to Offer Telehealth Visits In Southern New Jersey

The Blue Cross and Blue Shield Service Benefit Plan, also known as the Federal Employee Program (FEP) has selected Teladoc, Inc. to provide general medical and behavioral health services for the 2018 benefit year. The implementation of Teladoc will allow millions of federal employees around the country anytime, anywhere to access quality health care services through multiple devices – mobile app and web video capabilities, as well as phone – along with easy-to-use tools and alerts to encourage member use and engagement.

FEP covers roughly 5.3 million federal employees, retirees and their families out of the nearly 8 million members of the federal workforce nationwide. With more than 10,000 clients – including insurers, medical providers and employers – and more than 20 million members who connect within minutes to Teladoc’s network of board-certified, state-licensed physicians and therapists, Teladoc has the experience and demonstrated ability to support the needs of the diverse FEP membership.

“FEP members and their families can count on Teladoc to bring better convenience, quality and health care access, when and where they need it,” said Teladoc CRO, Pete Nieves in a statement. “The Teladoc organization is committed to a successful, long-term partnership and to bringing a new level of health care service that the FEP members expect.”

Currently, Teladoc serves more than 10,000 clients – from payers to providers to employers – and more than 20 million members who connect within minutes to Teladoc’s network of more than 3,100 board-certified, state-licensed physicians and therapists.
