Canary Heath

Medtronic and Canary Health, a provider of proven digital health self-management programs announced a partnership to expand their diabetes offerings. As part of the partnership, Medtronic will now resell Canary Health’s self-management programs through its sales channels to health plans and providers, and the two companies will jointly develop future solutions that leverage their respective expertise.

The partnership marks Medtronic’s first big move into pre-diabetes care and will enable the most comprehensive treatment available for the full spectrum of diabetes acuity. The partnership with Medtronic will scale Canary Health’s CDC-recognized Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) and its diabetes self-management program to more broadly reach the 22 million people in the United States suffering from diabetes, and the 86 million people at risk for developing the disease.

Additionally, Medtronic also plans to offer Canary Health’s other chronic disease self-management programs which address conditions that are commonly associated with diabetes including arthritis, depression, and heart disease, for a more comprehensive and integrated approach to care.

The Medtronic partnership follows Canary Health’s recent acquisition of mobile stress management company, bLife, as well as an exclusive license with Stanford University’s Patient Education Research Center for its chronic disease self-management programs, which have achieved the highest criteria for evidence-based programs set by the U.S Department of Health & Human Services and have been proven effective through more than 30 published clinical studies.
