What You Should Know

  • Medallion, the AI-assisted healthcare credentialing and payer enrollment platform, announced on September 15, 2026, that it has acquired Andros, an NCQA-certified credentials verification organization (CVO) serving health plans and provider networks since 2013.
  • The transaction combines systems to manage over one million healthcare providers across nearly 400 healthcare organizations and commercial health plans onto a single credentialing and data management platform.
  • Establishes Medallion as the largest AI-native credentialing platform in the United States, providing a unified software and services architecture for credentialing, payer enrollment, clinical licensing, and enterprise provider data management.
  • Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Bailey & Company served as exclusive financial advisor to Andros.

Scale and Reach Across One Million Clinicians

Founded in 2013, Andros has operated for over 13 years as an accredited CVO verifying provider qualifications for commercial health plans, hospital systems, regional medical groups, and telehealth networks:

  • Combined Platform Volume: The acquisition brings over one million healthcare providers across nearly 400 healthcare organizations and health plans onto a unified credentialing infrastructure.
  • National CVO Breadth: Andros contributes experience building more than 200 provider networks across all 50 states and processing roughly 300,000 annual credentialing files, backed by 11-out-of-11 NCQA accreditation standards.
  • Transition Roadmap: Andros enterprise customers will gradually transition onto Medallion’s AI-native platform, gaining access to automated primary source data extraction, automated multi-state license verification, real-time application tracking, and Medallion’s embedded human-in-the-loop credentialing specialists.

Unifying Front-End Payer Enrollment with Primary Source Verification

The combination creates the largest AI-native credentialing and enrollment platform in the United States, advancing Medallion’s strategy to unify the entire provider lifecycle on a single system of record:

  • Automated Primary Source Verification: Algorithmic data ingestion and OCR tools query state medical boards, the National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB), OIG exclusion lists, and DEA registries in parallel, reducing verification cycles from weeks to days.
  • Agentic Payer Follow-Up: Autonomous AI agents handle repetitive provider outreach, missing document retrieval, and payer enrollment status tracking, alerting human specialists only when exceptions or sanction flags emerge.
  • Continuous Monitoring & Delegated Credentialing: Beyond point-in-time onboarding, the platform provides automated, ongoing license monitoring and audit-ready documentation to support health plans’ delegated credentialing committees.

“Over the past 13 years Andros has developed strong, trusted relationships with many of the top health plans in the country,” said Derek Lo, founder and CEO of Medallion. “The success Andros has already achieved will only be strengthened by Medallion’s AI-native credentialing solution.”

Strategic Rationale: Consolidating Payer and Provider Administrative Tech

Historically, the credentialing sector has been divided between legacy, human-intensive BPO verification services and point-solution SaaS intake forms. Furthermore, provider-side roster workflows (hospital privileging, state medical licensing) rarely interfaced with payer-side directory management.

By integrating Andros’s health plan relationships and CVO certifications with its own software platform, Medallion bridges provider-side onboarding with payer network operations—directly challenging legacy verification services and directory data aggregators.
