What You Should Know
- Labcorp and the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) have formed a strategic alliance to advance leadership development, practice improvement, and clinical outcomes across U.S. Community Health Centers (CHCs).
- The collaboration introduces the NACHC Leadership Exchange for Chief Medical Officers (CMOs), an executive development and peer-mentorship program designed to strengthen clinical and operational capabilities for health center leaders.
- CHCs represent the largest primary care network in the United States, providing comprehensive care to 52.3 million patients (serving 1 in 7 Americans nationwide and 1 in 3 in rural communities) across 1,526 health centers.
- The partnership establishes a multi-year framework to leverage de-identified laboratory data, clinical analytics, and evidence generation to help CHCs close gaps in care and elevate quality metrics.
Elevating Safety-Net Clinical Leadership and Data Architecture
Community Health Centers represent the largest primary care network in the United States, providing essential care to 1 in 7 Americans and 1 in 3 rural residents. However, safety-net providers frequently operate under tight resource margins, high workforce turnover, and fragmented clinical intelligence systems.
The alliance addresses these structural barriers through structured executive training and aggregated diagnostic intelligence:
- NACHC Leadership Exchange for CMOs: Launches an executive leadership curriculum and peer-mentorship network supported by Labcorp’s subject matter expertise, equipping current and emerging Chief Medical Officers with operational, clinical, and financial tools tailored to safety-net environments.
- Aggregated Diagnostic Intelligence: Analyzes de-identified laboratory testing data to track disease prevalence, monitor chronic disease management benchmarks, and identify unaddressed care gaps to improve HEDIS and quality performance.
- Practice Improvement & Evidence Generation: Establishes collaborative clinical education programs and research initiatives across NACHC’s 1,526 health centers to standardize preventive care protocols.
- Safety-Net Primary Care Capacity: Strengthens long-term clinical and operational capacity for the 52.3 million urban and rural patients who depend on community-based health centers.
“Community Health Centers play a critical role in delivering care to millions of people across the country. Through our work with NACHC, Labcorp is investing in the future of community-based healthcare by helping develop the next generation of clinical leaders and leveraging laboratory data to enhance care delivery and improve outcomes for patients.”
— Bryan Vaughn, Executive Vice President and President of Diagnostics, Labcorp
