What You Should Know:

– Prosper AI, a voice AI platform purpose-built for healthcare organizations secures $5M in seed funding led by Emergence Capital, with participation from Y Combinator, CRV, and Company Ventures.

Specialized AI Agents for Complex Workflows

A significant portion of U.S. healthcare expenses, over $450B annually, is dedicated to administrative costs. This includes a third of the workforce in hospitals and physician offices who are administrative staff. These workers spend their time on tasks such as answering phones, calling insurers, and managing claims. The healthcare voice AI platform Prosper AI is working to change this.

Cofounders Josep Mingot and Xavier de Gracia met in Boston while studying at MIT and Harvard. In 2023, they founded Prosper, applying their expertise in call centers and regulated industries to tackle one of today’s most pressing challenges: improving access to healthcare.

Prosper AI builds specialized AI voice agents that can speak like humans and integrate directly into practice management software.

These agents handle a variety of tasks, from patient scheduling and billing to insurance benefits verification and prior authorizations. Unlike generic voice AI tools, Prosper AI’s agents are specifically designed for healthcare, with deep integrations into EHRs and battle-tested blueprints for both patient-facing and back-office workflows.

“Our mission is to unlock universal access to care by empowering healthcare organizations to achieve unprecedented efficiency with AI Agents”, said Xavier de Gracia, co-founder of Prosper AI.

Unlocking Efficiency and Improving Patient Access

Prosper AI’s platform is engineered specifically for healthcare enterprises, offering:

  • For patient phone calls: Automated scheduling, billing inquiries, and follow-up workflows, with a 50-70% automation rate for inbound patient calls. This reduces call center strain and improves patient satisfaction.
  • For payer phone calls: Benefits verification, prior authorizations, and claims follow-ups. The agents have 99% accuracy in navigating payer IVRs and extracting information , with a sub-2-hour turnaround for complex payer interactions.

Recent Traction

The platform’s impact is already being seen across clients. Prosper AI agents are executing hundreds of thousands of calls for industry leaders, including a Providence-affiliated hospital and a Fortune 50 pharmaceutical hub. A leading multispecialty group, Synergy Healthcare Associates, has seen Prosper AI automate over 50% of its front desk calls, including scheduling and waitlist management. According to Nathan Woelfel, COO at Synergy Healthcare Associates, the platform has redefined how their call center runs by simplifying intricate processes, shortening patient wait times, and boosting efficiency.
