SonderMind Launches AI Notes to Cut Clinician Documentation Time by 80%

What You Should Know:

– SonderMind, a leader in mental healthcare, has commercially launched AI Notes, a new tool designed to significantly reduce the administrative burden on clinicians.

– The tool, which has already been used to generate over 100,000 notes for insurance claim submission, is saving providers up to 90 minutes per day. This allows therapists and psychiatry providers to dedicate more time to their patients and less to administrative tasks.

Reducing Burnout and Enhancing Patient Experience for Therapists

With patient consent, AI Notes transcribes and formats client notes within seconds after a session ends. The tool streamlines documentation, allowing providers to be fully present with their clients without worrying about notetaking. The initial feedback from clinicians has been overwhelmingly positive.

Among the many reviews coming in, SonderMind provider Charlie Boutillette, LPC, from Colorado shared, “AI Notes cut my documentation time to under 5 minutes, which means I can actually be present with my clients instead of worrying about notes — and they feel that difference in session.” Additionally, Clint Callahan, LCSW, from Colorado said, “AI Notes have been incredibly helpful. I only need to make small edits, which saves me time and lets me focus more on my clients and their needs instead of unpaid admin work. It also allows me to schedule more sessions without adding extra admin hours.”

Compliance and Responsible AI Governance

The development of AI Notes was a collaborative effort between SonderMind’s clinical, technology, and legal teams. The company’s commitment to safety and compliance is demonstrated through its adherence to HIPAA and ISO 27001 standards, dual encryption, and privacy-by-design principles. The tool received 100% approval from the company’s AI Governance Council, which includes clinicians, compliance experts, and product leaders.

SonderMind does not monetize data, and provider and client information is never sold or used for advertisements. By taking on compliance responsibility for the notes, SonderMind provides providers with peace of mind, allowing them to focus on delivering high-quality, whole-person care.
