What You Should Know:

  • Northwell Health, New York’s largest healthcare provider and private employer, today announced a strategic alliance with Brightline, the leading therapy and psychiatry practice that delivers pediatric, teen, and parental mental healthcare.
  • The collaboration offers patients enhanced access to evidence-based, family-centered mental healthcare, both in-person at Brightline’s New York clinic locations in Brooklyn and Lake Success, and virtually, addressing the urgent and growing demand for youth and family behavioral health services in New York.

Northwell Health and Brightline Partner to Expand Pediatric Behavioral Health Services

Northwell Health is expanding access to pediatric behavioral health by partnering with Brightline, a leading provider of child, teen, and family mental health services. While Northwell currently delivers a full continuum of behavioral health care—including inpatient, outpatient, urgent, emergency, and school-based programs—growing demand has required frequent referrals to external specialists.

Through this alliance, Northwell patients will gain streamlined access to Brightline’s network of licensed clinicians, including psychologists, psychiatrists, and therapists, specializing in conditions such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, OCD, and parenting stress.

Michael Scarpelli, SVP and president of Behavioral Health Services at Northwell, noted:
“Our strategic alliance with Brightline reflects our shared commitment to meeting families where they are – in their neighborhoods, their schools, and even their homes.”

Enhancing Access and Expanding Capacity

This collaboration strengthens Northwell’s behavioral health capacity and enhances care integration, offering families:

  • Diagnostic evaluations, therapy, psychiatry, medication management, and psychological testing
  • Comprehensive in-person assessments for autism, learning disorders, executive functioning, school readiness, and giftedness
  • Targeted programs for higher-acuity conditions, including anxiety, OCD, ADHD, and behavior disorders, with coordinated therapy, psychiatry, and medication support
  • Family-centered care plans tailored to the child’s age and stage, with close coordination between Brightline clinicians and pediatricians

Supporting Statewide Behavioral Health Goals

The partnership builds on New York State’s push to close gaps in pediatric mental health access and integrate mental and physical care. Brightline, which has delivered six years of clinical excellence in virtual pediatric, teen, and family care, is also scaling in-person services. After opening its first brick-and-mortar clinic in Brooklyn in April 2025, Brightline recently launched a second location in Lake Success, expanding reach across the region.
