Expanding Services and Accreditations
In addition to the new Gene and Cell Services accreditation, Walgreens Central Specialty Pharmacy has achieved a number of other recognitions. It received its first accreditations for infusion nursing services (non-Medicare certified) and infusion pharmacy services (without sterile compounding). The Central Specialty Pharmacy was also reaccredited in ACHC Specialty Pharmacy Accreditation and received distinctions in oncology, rare diseases, and orphan drugs.
Tracey James, RPh, chief operating officer of Walgreens Specialty Pharmacy, stated that this accreditation and the company’s work in gene and cell therapies are part of Walgreens’ long-standing mission to evolve the pharmacy industry. These ACHC accreditations are effective from September 16, 2025, through September 15, 2028.
