What You Should Know:

–       Medvantx, a leading pharmacy services company, announced today that it acquired RxS, a sample management company leveraging an integrated multi-channel approach.

–       The combined company will offer pharmaceutical and device manufacturers and providers a suite of seamlessly integrated pharmacy services including PAP fulfillment, mail order, cash pay, telehealth, sample distribution, and prescriber engagement, all supported by a robust digital platform and omnichannel patient support solutions.

Medvantx Expands Integrated Pharmacy Services with Acquisition to Advance Patient Access and Engagement

San Diego–based Medvantx, a leading independent, non-commercial dispensing pharmacy, has announced a strategic acquisition that significantly strengthens its technology-enabled service portfolio for pharmaceutical manufacturers, biotech firms, medical device companies, and specialty care providers. This move aligns with Medvantx’s mission to improve medication access nationwide through a seamless integration of pharmacy delivery, patient engagement, and compliance solutions.

The acquisition enhances Medvantx’s existing capabilities by incorporating RxS’s advanced sampling and digital engagement tools, allowing the combined entity to deliver a more connected and responsive experience for patients, providers, and life sciences clients. Medvantx, which already supports nationwide medication distribution—including cold-chain fulfillment—will now offer an expanded suite of services encompassing sampling, patient access programs, and digital compliance tools.

According to CEO Prasanna Parthasarathy, “This acquisition brings together highly complementary solutions that address critical needs of pharmaceutical manufacturers, emerging biotech companies, medical device and specialty care providers. The integration instantly expands the reach of both organizations, unlocking cross-channel opportunities and accelerating access to services for our respective clients. Together, we are redefining pharmacy delivery—powered by technology, driven by data, and united in our mission to deliver unmatched customer experience.”

The enhanced service offering includes:

– Multi-channel sample management, including hand-carried rep samples, direct-to-practitioner distribution, and multichannel digital engagement
– Fulfillment for patient assistance programs, improving access to medications across all U.S. states and territories
– Bridge and quick-start programs, enabling timely trial access to medications before insurance authorization
– Telehealth and cash-pay solutions, delivered through customizable portals that connect patients with care teams and medications
– Real-time analytics and digital engagement tools, offering clients actionable metrics to enhance outcomes
– Robust regulatory compliance support via validated workflows, audit trails, and PDMA-aligned standards

As part of the integration, RxS Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer Mark Jara will join Medvantx as Senior Vice President, Samples Platform, to oversee the harmonization of services and maintain continuity for existing RxS clients.

Founded in 2000, Medvantx is recognized for operating one of the largest independent dispensing pharmacies in the U.S., with a team of over 100 clinical professionals providing pharmaceutical counseling, education, and drug interaction monitoring. With this acquisition, the company strengthens its position as a data-driven pharmacy partner offering compliant, scalable solutions to help more patients access essential medications—efficiently, safely, and consistently.
