What You Should Know:

– Daya Ventures, a Swedish venture studio that has rapidly established itself by building femtech companies from scratch, today announced the first close of its ongoing funding round.

– The company has successfully secured SEK 2 million of a total targeted SEK 8 million, with investments from high-profile backers from both Wall Street and Europe. The capital injection is earmarked to scale Daya’s proven model of creating an “Ecosystem for Women’s Health” and to fuel its global expansion.

– In just two years, Daya Ventures has founded ten new femtech companies, built a 16-company portfolio with majority female ownership, and established the world’s first venture studio entirely focused on women’s health. The company has also launched an innovation hub in East Africa, demonstrating its commitment to building locally grounded yet globally scalable solutions.

Powering A Femtech Ecosystem by Addressing Overlooked Needs

Daya Ventures operates by identifying overlooked areas in women’s health, prototyping solutions in collaboration with experts, and then launching companies led by strong operational founders. All startups within its ecosystem are majority-owned by women, with Daya Ventures retaining a 15-20% stake in each to reinvest in future innovation.

“We’re building solutions to problems the tech industry has ignored for far too long even though women deal with them every day,” said Malin Frithiofsson, CEO and co-founder of Daya Ventures. “It’s not the problems that have lacked relevance, it’s the development that’s lacked interest”.

Traction and Global Reach Over Past 2 Years

Since its inception, Daya Ventures has achieved significant milestones:

  • Founded 10 new femtech companies spanning diagnostics, deeptech, retail, and digital health.
  • Built a portfolio of 16 companies, all with majority female ownership.
  • Seen four of its portfolio companies launch products and begin generating revenue.
  • Opened an innovation hub in East Africa, where local teams are developing solutions using the Daya methodology.
  • Attracted a diverse group of investors from Europe, Asia, and North America.
  • Created a global expert network that spans over 20 countries.
