Wolters Kluwer Health Acquires IntelliLearn to Expand Online Nursing Education Offerings

What You Should Know:

– Wolters Kluwer Health announced it has acquired IntelliLearn Pty Ltd., a provider of online courseware solutions for nursing schools primarily in Australia and the U.S.. The acquisition will see IntelliLearn become part of Wolters Kluwer’s Health, Learning, Research & Practice (HLRP) business, a recognized leader in nursing education and practice solutions.

– The strategic move aims to broaden Wolters Kluwer’s range of training modules designed to prepare nursing students for practice, particularly through the integration of IntelliLearn’s specialized content into the Lippincott suite of nursing products.

Strengthening Nursing Education with Specialized Courseware

The addition of IntelliLearn’s solutions, which notably include courseware on medication safety and other medical math topics, is expected to enhance Wolters Kluwer’s ability to support nursing education globally.

“We’re pleased to be adding the IntelliLearn solutions to our Lippincott suite of nursing products,” said Julie Stegman, Vice President and General Manager, Wolters Kluwer Health, Learning & Practice. “The IntelliLearn solutions, including medication safety and other medical math content, allow us to offer an even broader range of training modules to prepare nursing students for practice”.

About IntelliLearn: A Provider of Cloud-Based Nursing Solutions

Founded in 2010 and based in Adelaide, Australia, IntelliLearn has developed cloud-based solutions utilized by educational institutions across Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and the U.S.. As part of the acquisition, seven full-time IntelliLearn employees, along with a network of contract workers, will join Wolters Kluwer Health.

Financial Outlook and Integration

Wolters Kluwer anticipates that the acquisition of IntelliLearn will achieve a return on invested capital (ROIC) exceeding its weighted after-tax cost of capital (WACC) within three to five years. The company also projects that the acquisition will have an immaterial impact on Wolters Kluwer’s adjusted earnings.
