What You Should Know:

– Corti, an AI infrastructure provider for healthcare, announced it is joining the Coalition for Health AI (CHAI). This move signifies Corti’s commitment to collaborating on the development of best practices and frameworks to foster innovation, safety, and security for artificial intelligence in the health sector.

– CHAI is an industry-led coalition that brings together a diverse group of stakeholders, including health systems, patient advocates, researchers, professional associations, and technology providers, all working towards ensuring AI is deployed responsibly in healthcare.

Advocating for Healthcare-Specific AI Infrastructure

Corti has consistently emphasized the need for AI solutions tailored specifically for the complexities of healthcare, rather than adapting general-purpose models. “Healthcare is vast, complex, and deeply specialized – and it needs AI more than ever,” said Andreas Cleve, CEO and co-founder of Corti. “But to scale safely and meaningfully, healthcare AI must begin with the right infrastructure. Too many applications today are adapted from general-purpose models built to serve all industries. Corti’s approach has always been different – we develop healthcare-specific foundation models from the ground up. Joining CHAI allows us to work alongside peers to identify the best practices and frameworks that make AI safe, useful, and trusted by clinicians”.

Corti provides the foundational infrastructure layer for safe and scalable healthcare AI, currently offering nearly 10 API endpoints that support mission-critical workflows such as medical dictation, documentation, and real-time transcription streaming. Its foundation models are trained exclusively on healthcare data and optimized for high-stakes environments, enabling vendors, providers, and payers to deploy AI confidently and responsibly.

CHAI: Building Consensus for Trusted and Safe Health AI

The Coalition for Health AI was initiated by clinicians with a mission to build the broadest possible consensus across the health ecosystem. This is to help ensure that health AI is trusted, secure, and safe for all users. CHAI’s membership is open and has rapidly expanded to include nearly 3,000 organizations. The coalition has established working groups focusing on critical areas such as privacy and security, transparency, usefulness, and the safety of AI algorithms. Notably, CHAI recently established its first Model Card registry, designed to support the growth of model cards – often described as ‘nutrition labels’ for health AI – to simplify procurement processes for health systems and solution providers.

“I am thrilled to welcome Corti to our growing community of organizations committed to advancing effective and responsible health AI,” said Brian Anderson, CHAI’s CEO. “We are driven by the engagement and expertise of our members and the feedback of our broader health ecosystem and the public. We look forward to working together to unlock the potential benefits of AI, on a foundation of trust, safety, and security”.

Corti’s Role in Shaping Responsible AI Frameworks

As a member of CHAI, Corti will contribute its expertise in healthcare-specific AI infrastructure to help develop the frameworks and safeguards necessary for responsible innovation to scale effectively across the healthcare system. This collaboration aligns with Corti’s commitment to providing robust and reliable AI tools that meet the unique demands of clinical environments.
