The Power of "Blended Visits": Allina Health's Hybrid Strategy with TytoCare

What You Should Know:

– Allina Health, a prominent Midwest healthcare system serving patients across Minnesota and Western Wisconsin, is collaborating with TytoCare to launch a unique hybrid care program.

– By deploying TytoCare’s Pro Smart Clinic solution in 12 of its urgent care locations, Allina Health is aiming to significantly reduce patient wait times and increase the number of patients that can be seen, offering enhanced access through on-demand virtual care teams. Following positive feedback, Allina Health is also increasing its use of TytoCare devices in its hospital settings by 20%.

Transforming Urgent Care with Hybrid “Blended Visits”

At the core of this initiative is the integration of TytoCare’s advanced virtual care technology, allowing Allina Health to create what it calls “Blended Visits.” This model enables on-demand virtual care teams to treat individuals remotely, directly impacting urgent care efficiency. As a result, patient wait times have reportedly been reduced, and daily patient volumes have increased. Patients visiting urgent care for simpler reasons now benefit from this expanded service, accessing care in a manner that best suits them and their families.

Advanced Technology for Comprehensive Remote Examinations

TytoCare’s Pro Smart Clinic solution empowers healthcare providers to conduct remote exams that are comparable in depth to traditional in-person visits. The technology facilitates:

  • Heart and lung examinations, featuring AI-driven wheeze and crackle detection.
  • Throat and ear assessments.
  • Skin examinations.
  • Body temperature measurements.

By leveraging these capabilities, clinicians can diagnose and treat a wider range of conditions remotely. This creates unique and faster pathways to care, significantly improving convenience for patients.

Expanding Virtual Care’s Footprint Within Allina Health and Beyond

The positive reception of TytoCare’s technology has prompted Allina Health to further integrate these devices into its hospital settings, increasing their use by 20%. This local expansion mirrors a national trend, with TytoCare’s devices now present in 134 hospitals and urgent care facilities across all 50 states, often through collaborations with federally qualified health centers and other health systems.
