– The implementation will span both its main campus in New Canaan, CT, and its recently rebranded outpatient facility, Silver Hill New York, located in Midtown Manhattan. The move aims to enhance care coordination and patient engagement by consolidating onto a modern, integrated platform.
Replacing Disparate Systems with Integrated Platform
Silver Hill chose MEDITECH Expanse following a comprehensive Request for Proposal (RFP) process that evaluated the three leading EHR providers. The Expanse platform will replace the organization’s current mix of disparate systems and paper-based records, providing a single, shared, intelligent system. This integrated EHR will offer a complete suite of clinical, administrative, and financial solutions designed to manage patient needs across both inpatient and outpatient care settings.
Leveraging MaaS for Efficient Implementation
Silver Hill opted for the MEDITECH as a Service (MaaS) subscription model. This approach delivers the full capabilities of the Expanse platform while significantly reducing the internal resources, time, and costs typically associated with procuring, hosting, and maintaining an enterprise-level EHR system on-premise.
“MaaS was the ideal solution for our organization and IT team,” stated Silver Hill Director of IT Melissa Hall. “It allows us to have all of the features and benefits of a modern system without the overhead associated with an on-prem alternative.”
By implementing Expanse, Silver Hill will connect to MEDITECH’s nationwide interoperability network, Traverse Exchange. This connectivity will streamline the referral process, enabling the secure exchange of discrete patient information with participating care networks and organizations using different EHR systems.
Utilizing Analytics for Actionable Insights
Silver Hill will also deploy Expanse’s Business and Clinical Analytics (BCA), a sophisticated business intelligence solution. BCA will provide real-time, actionable insights to help the hospital improve operational efficiency, financial performance, and patient outcomes. Silver Hill plans to use BCA to augment its existing data warehouse capabilities.
