What You Should Know:
– The Commonwealth Healthcare Corporation (CHCC) in Saipan, CNMI, has chosen MEDITECH Expanse as its new Electronic Health Record (EHR) system platform.
– CHCC’s adoption of Expanse aligns with its strategic goal of establishing a patient-centered healthcare model that emphasizes individual patient needs and strengthens care coordination throughout its network
Advance Patient-Centered Care with MEDITECH Expanse EHR
MEDITECH Expanse will provide CHCC with a single, integrated patient record system that allows for seamless information sharing among all care facilities and teams, including health centers on the islands of Tinian and Rota. The Expanse EHR is expected to support better healthcare decision-making by offering a comprehensive view of each patient’s health history, regardless of where or when they received prior care. CHCC physicians, nurses, and clinicians will have immediate access to vital patient information, such as test results, allergies, and diagnoses, from any location within the islands. The platform’s mobile accessibility will enable clinicians to document care in real-time, facilitating more meaningful patient interactions and increasing the time clinicians can spend directly with patients.
Expanse EHR Safety Features
Key safety features within Expanse will aid in accurate medication management and provide real-time alerts, enabling clinicians to respond quickly to changes in a patient’s condition. The system will also enhance CHCC’s ability to manage care for patients with chronic conditions, such as hypertension and diabetes, and to proactively address the needs of patients at increased risk for illness.
Leveraging AI and Predictive Analytics
The advanced capabilities of the Expanse system, including AI-driven clinical decision support and predictive analytics, are expected to help healthcare teams anticipate patient needs, identify high-risk individuals earlier, and expedite care plans. CHCC anticipates that these tools will be particularly valuable in reducing wait times, improving early detection of health issues, and standardizing the quality of care provided to the community. The organization is also focusing on improving care for patients with complex, long-term conditions like diabetes and cancer.
“We are proud to partner with Commonwealth Healthcare Corporation to modernize their EHR and support patient-centered care across their island community,” said MEDITECH Executive Director Gina Kerley. “We share their vision to provide accessible, equitable, and valuable healthcare to the communities they serve to elevate the patient experience and improve outcomes across the care continuum.”
