Merck Manuals Integrates Trusted Medical Knowledge into Microsoft Copilot Studio for Clinicians

– Merck Manuals, an independent medical reference resource announced a significant collaboration with Microsoft to integrate its comprehensive professional medical content into the healthcare agent service within Microsoft Copilot Studio. 

– The initiative leverages the power of Generative AI (GenAI) to provide clinicians with reliable, in-depth, and evidence-based medical information precisely when and where they need it most – at the point of care.

Integrate Medical Information Resources into Healthcare Agent Service in Microsoft Copilot Studio

This integration marks a pivotal step in enhancing clinical workflows by seamlessly embedding the Merck Manuals’ authoritative content directly into Microsoft’s healthcare agent service within Copilot Studio. This empowers healthcare technology developers to build sophisticated generative AI-driven healthcare agents capable of accessing and utilizing this high-value medical knowledge. As the Merck Manuals are known as MSD Manuals outside of the US and Canada, the platform will recognize and utilize the MSD Manuals name accordingly.

The healthcare agent service in Microsoft Copilot Studio provides healthcare organizations with the tools to develop generative AI-powered agents while incorporating reusable healthcare-specific features. This includes pre-built intelligence sourced from reputable medical references like the Merck/MSD Manuals, along with clinical, chat, and compliance safeguards.

The collaboration will extend across both Microsoft’s third-party and first-party applications, notably including Microsoft Dragon Copilot. Within voice-enabled and ambient clinical documentation workflows in Dragon Copilot, clinicians will gain the ability to seamlessly surface credible medical information through GenAI, further streamlining their access to vital knowledge.
