What You Should Know:

– Shin Nippon Biomedical Laboratories, Ltd. (SNBL) and Tasso, Inc., a Seattle-based provider of patient-centric blood collection solutions, have announced an agreement to establish a new joint venture (JV) company.

– The JV will focus on the exclusive distribution of Tasso’s proprietary on-demand blood collection device in Japan.

Tasso’s Innovative Blood Collection Device:

Tasso’s self-blood collection device offers several unique features that make it well-suited for these applications:

  • (1) Painless Collection: The device is designed for a painless blood collection experience.
  • (2) Anywhere Use: It can be used in various locations, including at home.
  • (3) Self-Administration: It allows for self-administration, empowering patients to collect their own samples.
  • (4) High-Quality Samples: It collects high-quality blood samples using a compatible collection tube.

JV Responsibilities and SNBL Global Gateway (SGG) Project:

The JV will have the exclusive right to sell Tasso products in Japan. It will also be responsible for:

  • Managing and overseeing the regulatory process
  • Commercialization, including promotion, marketing, and sales
  • Distribution of the device in Japan

“We are pleased to partner with SNBL as part of the SGG initiative. SNBL’s expertise will streamline the entry of Tasso’s virtually painless blood collection technology to the Japanese market, enabling a better patient experience for Japan,” said Ben Casavant, PhD, CEO and Co-Founder of Tasso.
