Abbott Unveils FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus: World's Smallest CGM Sensor with Future AID Compatibility

What You Should Know:

– Glooko, a provider of integrated digital health solutions for diabetes management, has announced a significant expansion of its platform’s capabilities with the integration of Abbott’s FreeStyle Libre continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) systems in the United States.

– The newly implemented integration allows individuals with diabetes to seamlessly synchronize data from their FreeStyle Libre CGM systems with other vital health metrics, including insulin usage, physical activity, and dietary intake. This holistic view of health data provides patients with a more complete understanding of their diabetes management.

Integration of Abbott’s FreeStyle Libre CGM Systems

For healthcare providers, the integration translates into a more consolidated and detailed picture of their patients’ diabetes management. By accessing this unified data, clinicians can streamline daily care routines and make more informed, data-driven clinical decisions. This integration is now accessible to individuals with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, as well as healthcare systems across the U.S., through Glooko’s existing electronic health record (EHR) integration solutions.

The integration arrives at a crucial time, as the prevalence of diabetes continues to rise. The ability to seamlessly integrate CGM data with other health metrics marks a significant advancement in supporting both patients and healthcare providers.

“Diabetes care is evolving rapidly, and Glooko is leading the way by providing a single, unified platform for managing all aspects of diabetes,” said Mike Alvarez, Chief Executive Officer of Glooko. “With this integration, Glooko continues to enhance its interoperability capabilities, providing healthcare systems with the data they need to make more informed decisions and improve patient outcomes.”
