What You Should Know:

– GE HealthCare has introduced the AltiX AI.i edition of its Mac-Lab™, CardioLab™, and ComboLab™ systems, designed to elevate cardiac catheterization (cath) lab workflows and support complex electrophysiology (EP) procedures.

– The AltiX AI.i editions include new features aimed at streamlining workflows, enhancing interoperability, and maintaining strong cybersecurity standards.

– The launch comes at a crucial time, as cardiovascular disease (CVD) has nearly doubled in the past three decades, affecting over 500 million people globally. Deaths and disabilities due to CVD have also been on the rise during this period. The increasing number of cardiac cases highlights the urgent need for tools that improve the efficiency of cardiac cath and EP procedures, with efficient diagnosis and therapy being essential to address the growing demand for care.

Mac-Lab for Cardiac Catheterization

The AltiX AI.i edition of the Mac-Lab recording system focuses on combining functionality with workflow optimization. Clinicians can use this solution to improve the cath lab user experience. Key features include the integration of the diastolic pressure ratio (dPR) algorithm for easy measurement and the ability to capture diastolic hyperemia-free ratio (DFR) measurements, both used to assess the severity of coronary artery disease. Mac-Lab also offers optional Cath Lab Command Center access with a large display, advanced video and layouts, and customized documentation tools.

CardioLab for EP Procedures

The AltiX AI.i edition of CardioLab enhances signal quality for visualizing physiological signals using the Prucka™ 3 digital amplifier. The Prucka 3 solution reduces environmental noise, maintains high signal fidelity, and provides new signal-filtering capabilities for advanced evaluations. GE HealthCare’s collaboration with Volta Medical is showcased in the latest CardioLab edition through Volta Interface, which utilizes PruckaStream to share real-time data to inform the Volta AF-Xplorer™ decision support system. This feature is designed to support clinicians with real-time assessments using artificial intelligence (AI) to automatically assess areas believed to initiate or maintain atrial fibrillation drivers. The EP Command Center is also available for an optimal visual experience.

ComboLab for a Comprehensive Solution

ComboLab integrates EP and hemodynamic recording into a single system, providing versatile functionality for both cath lab procedures and EP exams. ComboLab combines the best of Mac-Lab and CardioLab, offering clinicians a comprehensive solution to manage various cardiac procedures in one location. Its familiar interface and workflow simplify the learning curve, and its ability to document and export diagnostic data helps capture more information at the point of care

“AltiX AI.i is built on more than two decades of experience, leadership and innovation in invasive cardiology to enhance cath labs and EP procedures and empower clinicians to deliver the best possible outcomes,” said Jyoti Gera, CEO, CardioVascular & Interventional Solutions, GE HealthCare. “By automating routine tasks and streamlining workflow, AltiX AI.i allows clinicians to focus on what truly matters – providing exceptional patient care.”
