What You Should Know:

– MEDITECH, a provider of electronic health record (EHR) solutions, today announced the launch of its new Expanse Outreach Portal.

– The web-based platform empowers MEDITECH hospitals to expand their laboratory outreach programs, streamline operations, and improve collaboration with non-affiliated healthcare organizations.

Expanse Outreach Portal

The Expanse Outreach Portal provides a centralized solution for managing laboratory services between hospitals and their external clients, such as nursing homes, urgent care centers, and physician offices. Key features of the portal include:

  • Electronic Ordering: Enables non-affiliated organizations to place lab orders electronically, eliminating the need for manual processes like faxing or phone calls.
  • Real-Time Results: Provides clients with real-time access to lab results, improving turnaround time and facilitating timely patient care.
  • Management Reports: Offers comprehensive reports and analytics to help clients track lab utilization, manage orders, and identify trends.
  • Customer Service and Supply Management: Provides a centralized platform for addressing customer service inquiries and managing supply orders, enhancing communication and collaboration.

Expanding Access to Care

Laboratory outreach programs play a vital role in expanding access to essential diagnostic services, particularly in underserved communities. By partnering with non-affiliated organizations, hospitals can extend their reach and provide convenient lab testing options for patients, regardless of where they receive their primary care.

“Laboratory outreach programs present a significant opportunity for hospitals to generate additional revenue and the Outreach Portal simplifies the process,” said Jennifer Ford, Manager of Product Management at MEDITECH. “By enabling labs to connect with clients quickly, leverage existing workflows for ease of use, and manage all aspects of the outreach program in one place, the Outreach Portal is the foundation for taking your in-house laboratory business to the next level.”
