What You Should Know:

– SafelyYou, a provider of AI-powered solutions for senior living communities, today announced a $43M Series C funding round led by Touring Capital.

– This latest investment brings SafelyYou’s total funding to over $100M and will support the company’s mission to empower safer, more person-centered care for seniors.

Addressing the Growing Needs of Senior Living

The senior living industry faces numerous challenges, including:

  • High fall rates: Falls are a leading cause of injury and death among seniors, particularly those with cognitive decline.
  • Staffing shortages: The industry is experiencing a critical shortage of qualified caregivers.
  • Rising costs: The cost of providing quality care is increasing, putting pressure on senior living communities.
  • Increased focus on resident well-being: There is a growing demand for personalized, person-centered care that promotes resident well-being.

Senior living’s only fully ambient AI solution

Founded in 2016 by George Netscher, SafelyYou originated from his doctoral research at UC Berkeley’s Artificial Intelligence Research Lab. SafelyYou’s innovative technology addresses critical challenges in senior care, including fall prevention, resident well-being, staffing efficiency, and accurate billing. The company’s flagship product, SafelyYou Respond™, utilizes AI and advanced sensors to detect falls in real-time, enabling rapid response and reducing fall-related injuries.

SafelyYou’s AI-powered solutions features include:

  • Reducing falls: SafelyYou Respond™ has been proven to reduce falls by 40% and fall-related ER visits by 80%.
  • Improving resident well-being: SafelyYou Aware™ leverages AI to provide insights into resident behavior and well-being, enabling proactive interventions.
  • Optimizing operations: SafelyYou Clarity™ offers accurate care measurement without wearables, improving efficiency and reducing costs.
  • Predicting care needs: SafelyYou’s AI can predict resident care needs, enabling more proactive and personalized care delivery.

“We’re so grateful for this funding at a critical juncture in care delivery for senior living, when SafelyYou’s solutions are more important than ever,” said SafelyYou founder and CEO George Netscher. “I started this company to help my mom and to help so many families like ours who have a loved one living with dementia. And we’ve grown to provide broader care support in senior living. Now, at a time when resident acuity is increasing, care demands are greater, and staffing continues to be a crisis, we’ll be able to empower operators to predict care needs with unmatched speed and accuracy, revolutionizing how senior care is provided.”
