Oshi Health Secures $60M to Expand Multidisciplinary Gastroenterology Care Access

What You Should Know:

– Oshi Health, a national multidisciplinary gastroenterology (GI) medical practice announced that American College of Gastroenterology (ACG), the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA) GI Opportunity Fund, and a group of prominent practicing physicians have joined its recent $60M Series C funding round.

– This latest funding round builds on the ACG and AGA’s prior investment in Oshi Health in 2023 and highlights the growing recognition of the need for more accessible and comprehensive GI care. The participation of individual physician investors, facilitated by Scrub Capital, further underscores the importance of collaborative, multidisciplinary care in gastroenterology.

Addressing the Growing Demand for GI Care

The demand for GI care is on the rise, driven by factors such as:

  • High prevalence of digestive issues: Two out of three Americans experience digestive symptoms every week.
  • Expanded colorectal cancer screening guidelines: More individuals are now eligible for potentially life-saving screenings.
  • Rising healthcare costs: Digestive health is one of the most expensive conditions for employers and insurers.

Expanding Access to Proven Hybrid GI Care

Oshi Health addresses these challenges by providing a unique hybrid care model that combines virtual consultations with in-person care when needed. This approach improves access to specialized GI care, particularly for patients in underserved areas.

Oshi Health’s multidisciplinary team includes:

  • Specialized advanced practice providers (APPs)
  • Registered dietitians
  • Behavioral health providers
  • Board-certified gastroenterologists
  • Dedicated care coordinators

This integrated approach ensures that patients receive comprehensive care that addresses all aspects of their digestive health, including medical, nutritional, and psychological factors. Oshi Health’s model has demonstrated impressive results, as highlighted in the recently released 2024 Oshi Health Impact Report. The report shows that Oshi Health’s whole-person, multidisciplinary approach effectively mitigates symptoms and improves quality of life for many digestive health patients. With this new funding, Oshi Health plans to expand its reach and impact, bringing its proven hybrid care model to more patients across the country.

“The acute and growing need in America for comprehensive, high quality GI care cannot be met without leveraging new and innovative methods of care delivery,” said Sameer K. Berry, MD, co-founder and chief medical officer at Oshi Health. “Oshi’s proven multidisciplinary model integrates with GI practices to expand their capacity and enables them to offer additional support for patients. We are thrilled to have the financial backing of the nation’s leading GI medical associations for a second time and look forward to scaling care for those who suffer from digestive health symptoms and conditions.”
