What You Should Know:

– Core Sound Imaging, the company behind the innovative medical imaging platform Studycast, today announced a $80M growth investment from PSG, a growth equity firm.

– The funding will accelerate Studycast’s mission to modernize medical imaging and improve patient care by expanding its reach within core specialties, entering new clinical areas, and enhancing AI capabilities.

Importance of Medical Imaging

Medical imaging plays a vital role in healthcare, enabling accurate and timely diagnoses. However, many healthcare facilities rely on outdated, on-premises systems that lack workflow integration. This often leads to inefficiencies, including human error, delayed care, and a frustrating experience for physicians.

Studycast offers a solution to these challenges. Developed in collaboration with physicians and technologists, this cloud-based platform streamlines the entire medical imaging process, from ordering studies to reviewing and archiving results. By providing a single, integrated workflow, Studycast empowers healthcare providers to focus on what matters most: patient care.

Studycast’s cloud-based architecture allows for secure access to diagnostic-quality images from any location with internet access, increasing flexibility and efficiency for both providers and patients. The platform currently supports core medical specialties such as cardiology, vascular surgery, and OB/GYN, with modalities including ultrasound, nuclear medicine, and electrocardiography.

Expansion Plans

With PSG’s investment, Studycast plans to further enhance its platform with AI-powered tools. These advancements will help automate tasks, improve image analysis, and provide clinicians with valuable insights to support clinical decision-making.

As part of the investment, PSG Senior Advisor Brian Kelly will join Core Sound Imaging as Executive Chairman. Kelly brings extensive experience in the healthcare technology sector and will provide strategic guidance to the company as it embarks on its next phase of growth.

“PSG’s depth of healthcare software and AI experience and operational resources will be invaluable as we continue to strengthen our system to support healthcare providers and ultimately patients,” said Core Sound Imaging Co-Founders Mark Smith, CEO, and Laurie Smith, Chief Revenue Officer. “With a shared vision, we’re eager to work closely with PSG as we build upon the features our customers know and love to expand in new clinical care areas.”
