What You Should Know:

– Amwell (NYSE: AMWL), a provider of digital health solutions, announced a new partnership with Vida Health, a virtual cardiometabolic care provider.

– The strategic collaboration expands Amwell’s clinical program portfolio, offering a comprehensive suite of cardiometabolic care services to its extensive network of health plans and employers.

Addressing the Cardiometabolic Health Crisis

Over 40% of American adults struggle with obesity, a major risk factor for developing diabetes, heart disease, and cancer. The combined cost of obesity and diabetes to the U.S. healthcare system exceeds $500 billion annually.

The new program, Amwell Cardiometabolic Care Powered by Vida, provides members with access to:

  • Obesity management: Personalized support for weight loss and healthy lifestyle changes.
  • Diabetes prevention and management: Evidence-based programs to prevent and manage diabetes.
  • Behavioral health support: Integrated mental health services to address the emotional and psychological aspects of chronic conditions.

Vida Health’s Comprehensive Approach

Vida Health’s services are integrated into the Amwell platform, complementing existing virtual primary care, urgent care, and behavioral health programs. Vida’s unique approach includes:

  • Personalized care: Tailored programs based on individual needs, preferences, and social factors.
  • Medication management: Clinicians can prescribe GLP-1s, other anti-obesity medications, and lifestyle interventions.
  • Value-based care: An outcomes-driven model that ensures accountability and measurable results.

Enhancing Amwell’s Clinical Program Portfolio

Amwell’s clinical program portfolio features a variety of virtual and digital care products from leading partners, addressing a wide range of health conditions. This portfolio provides health plans and employers with a unified platform to offer comprehensive and personalized care to their members.

“We are thrilled to partner with Amwell,” said Joe Murad, CEO of Vida Health. “By leveraging our complementary capabilities, we’re making it easier than ever to provide members with personalized, high-touch care. Together, we’re working to reduce member friction, improve health outcomes at scale, and reduce costs.”
