What You Should Know:

– Suki, the leader in AI technology for healthcare, today announced new enhancements to its flagship product, Suki Assistant, in collaboration with Google Cloud. To further support clinicians in providing the best care possible, Suki Assistant will leverage Google Cloud’s Vertex AI platform to expand its assistive capabilities to now provide patient summaries and Q&A functionality.

–  With these additions, Suki becomes the industry’s first end-to-end clinical assistant by offering summaries of the patient’s medical record and answering medical reference questions, as well as assisting clinicians with documentation, coding, retrieving patient chart data, and dictation.

Suki and Google Cloud Partner to Revolutionize Clinical Documentation with AI

Suki, a leading AI voice solutions provider for healthcare, has announced new capabilities in its flagship product, Suki Assistant, to transform clinical workflows. By leveraging advanced generative AI, Suki Assistant creates clinical documentation, retrieves critical patient information, and assists with coding and queries, enabling clinicians to save time and focus on patient care.

Key Highlights of Suki Assistant

  • Streamlined Clinical Documentation: Suki Assistant uses generative AI to ambiently listen to patient-clinician conversations and produce clinical notes, reducing documentation time by 72% on average.
  • Enhanced Administrative Support: The platform assists with coding, answering clinical questions, and generating incremental revenue, delivering a 9x ROI within the first year.
  • Innovative Features:
    • Q&A Functionality: Clinicians can query patient data and medical references conversationally, asking questions like “What medications is this patient taking for diabetes?” The feature provides actionable answers by pulling data from electronic health records (EHR) and validated medical resources.
    • Patient Summaries: Automatically generates concise overviews of recent appointments and EHR data, helping clinicians prepare for visits and offer personalized care.

Tackling Clinician Burnout

Studies indicate that U.S. clinicians spend nearly 50% of their time on administrative tasks, contributing to burnout and reduced efficiency. Suki’s new features, developed in partnership with Google Cloud, aim to alleviate these issues by providing:

  • Efficient Information Retrieval: Google Cloud’s FHIR API and Vertex AI Search for Healthcare power the Q&A and summarization features, presenting relevant, concise patient data and medically validated search results in response to natural language queries.
  • Improved Decision-Making: Ready access to critical patient insights reduces information overload and supports better, faster clinical decisions.

Industry Support and Future Expansion

“We at Google Cloud are truly excited to be partnering with Suki,” said Aashima Gupta, Global Director of Healthcare Strategy and Solutions at Google Cloud. “Their innovative use of our generative AI technologies is pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in healthcare.”

Beginning today, a select group of clinicians will pilot the patient summarization feature, with broader availability planned soon. The Q&A functionality is slated for release in 2025, promising further advancements in simplifying administrative workflows and enhancing patient care.

By integrating cutting-edge AI capabilities, Suki is advancing its mission to make healthcare technology invisible and assistive, empowering clinicians to deliver higher-quality care while reducing administrative burdens.
