What You Should Know:

– Anatomy Financial, the developer of the AI-powered lockbox to convert paper mail from healthcare practices of all sizes to an email-like experience for simplified billing workflows, today announces $19M in Series A funding led by Canapi Ventures.

-Neil Underwood from Canapi and Nicole Quinn from Lightspeed Venture Partners will be joining the Anatomy board, supporting Anatomy’s efforts to bring a digital back office and AI-powered financial operations to healthcare providers across the United States.

Streamlining Healthcare Payments: Anatomy’s AI-Powered Financial Automation Solutions

Anatomy is revolutionizing financial operations for healthcare organizations by automating traditionally manual processes. Its current suite of solutions includes:

  • AI-powered Explanation of Benefits (EOB) conversion to 835 electronic formats
  • Modernized healthcare lockbox services that streamline mail and payment handling
  • Smart reconciliation tools to ensure accurate and efficient financial management

In the United States, manual payment processing remains prevalent:

  • 27% of insurance payments to medical organizations are still issued as paper checks
  • 79% of insurance payments to dental practices rely on paper checks

This reliance on paper creates significant operational burdens for providers, including opening mail, scanning and organizing documents, depositing checks, and manually entering data into practice management systems.

Anatomy addresses these challenges with its AI healthcare lockbox. By simply redirecting their billing address to Anatomy’s service, practices can:

  • Transform physical mail into a seamless, email-like experience
  • Convert EOBs into electronic remittances using Anatomy’s AI system
  • Automatically classify correspondence, including denial letters and billing details

“For healthcare practices to achieve financial clarity, all mail and payments must first be digitized,” said Sasha King, co-CEO of Anatomy Financial. “Paper mail remains a core channel for receiving critical information, such as payments, denial letters, and explanations of benefits. Anatomy’s reimagined lockbox bridges the gap between the physical and digital, leveraging AI-powered features purpose-built for billers, medical practices, and dental practices. This not only saves time but also ensures that no payments slip through the cracks.”

By automating these processes, Anatomy helps healthcare organizations reduce manual workloads, improve financial accuracy, and focus on delivering quality care.
