What You Should Know:

– Abridge, a provider of generative AI for healthcare, has partnered with Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA) to improve clinical documentation and enhance communication with diverse patient populations.

– The  collaboration will empower CHA’s clinicians with Abridge’s AI-powered platform, which offers industry-leading multilingual capabilities.

Addressing Language Barriers in Healthcare

Language barriers can significantly impact patient care, leading to miscommunication, diagnostic errors, and reduced patient satisfaction. CHA serves a diverse community where nearly half of the population speaks a primary language other than English. This partnership with Abridge will help CHA overcome these language barriers and provide equitable care to all patients.

Abridge’s AI-powered platform empowers CHA clinicians to:

  • Communicate effectively: Break down language barriers and provide culturally sensitive care.
  • Improve patient understanding: Ensure patients fully comprehend their diagnoses, treatment plans, and care instructions.
  • Enhance patient engagement: Foster stronger patient-provider relationships and improve adherence to care plans.
  • Reduce health disparities: Promote health equity by providing equal access to quality care for diverse populations.

“As AI becomes ubiquitous in clinical settings, we must ensure that its benefits are spread equitably among clinician and patient populations, which is why I am so thrilled to have the opportunity to work with CHA,” said Dr. Shiv Rao, CEO and Founder of Abridge. “Abridge’s market-leading automatic speech recognition and note generation technology continues to set the standard across hundreds of languages, specialties, care settings, and workflows.”
