Northwell Health, Siemens Healthineers Partner on Population Health Research Project

What You Should Know:

– Siemens Healthineers and The Ohio State Wexner Medical Center have expanded their long-standing collaboration to establish a 10-year, $105M Value Partnership.

– The strategic alliance aims to drive innovation in medical imaging, artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning, ultimately transforming care delivery and improving patient outcomes.

Accelerating Innovation in Healthcare

The partnership will leverage Siemens Healthineers’ expertise in medical technology and The Ohio State Wexner Medical Center’s clinical and research capabilities to transform care delivery through:

  • Diagnostic and Therapeutic Imaging: Advancements in imaging technology to enhance diagnosis and treatment across various medical specialties.
  • AI and Machine Learning: Developing and implementing AI and machine learning algorithms to improve efficiency, accuracy, and clinical decision-making in radiology and radiation oncology.
  • Access to Care: Expanding access to high-quality care for underserved patient populations.
  • Workforce Development: Implementing training and education programs to enhance the skills and expertise of healthcare professionals.

Establishing New Center for Imaging Excellence

A key component of the Value Partnership is the establishment of a new center for imaging excellence. This center will bring together scientists, physicians, engineers, and clinicians from both organizations to collaborate on translational research and develop innovative solutions that can be rapidly implemented in clinical practice.

“Combining the strengths of both our institutions allows us to achieve more for the benefit of our patients, locally and globally,” said John J. Warner, MD, CEO of The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and executive vice president at Ohio State. “We have a deep bench of subspecialized scientists working in cancer, heart, neuroscience and other disciplines. Along with Siemens Healthineers, we can solve medical challenges and adapt therapies in real time for the betterment of our patients – and that is a very meaningful opportunity that we’re excited to take on together.”
