What You Should Know:

  • Today, Hinge Health is announcing Enso 3™, a patented, wireless device that is FDA-cleared and clinically-proven to reduce musculoskeletal pain. One in four people with chronic pain experience sudden spikes that often disrupt their daily activities and compel them to seek relief.
  • The new Enso 3 delivers electrical nerve stimulation that achieves non-invasive, non-addictive pain relief within minutes. First shipments of the new Enso are starting this month, with wider availability to all new Hinge Health members starting in 2025.

Hinge Health: Revolutionizing Pain Treatment with Advanced Digital Solutions

Innovative Care to Move Beyond Pain

Hinge Health is transforming pain treatment and prevention by offering personalized, clinically guided care through a combination of advanced technology and AI. Available to over 18 million people, Hinge Health connects patients with expert clinicians both digitally and in-person. Proven to reduce pain by 68%, the platform helps prevent 42% of new opioid prescriptions and avoids more than half of joint replacement surgeries. It is trusted by leading health plans and employers such as Land O’Lakes, Salesforce, US Foods, and Verizon.

The New Enso 3: Redefining Pain Relief

The Enso 3 device, designed with new materials and colors for improved comfort, attaches to the skin via a reusable gel pad, allowing easy wear during exercise therapy or daily activities. It features clinically proven electrical waveforms tailored to different pain levels and body parts. In addition to its original waveform, shown to reduce pain by over 50%, Enso 3 includes two new waveforms for smaller muscles or those with higher sensitivity. The device will also receive software updates over time, providing new waveforms for enhanced pain relief.

Superior Performance in Pain Reduction

In a recent randomized controlled trial with 325 participants, Enso demonstrated superior pain reduction compared to traditional Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) devices and exercise therapy alone:

– Users of Enso and exercise therapy were 2.3 times more likely to experience clinically significant pain reduction than those using TENS devices with exercise therapy.

– Enso combined with exercise therapy was 2.8 times more effective in reducing pain than exercise therapy alone.

– 48.8% of Enso users reported significant pain improvement, compared to 34.6% of TENS users and 35.9% of those relying on exercise therapy without Enso.

Dr. Amitabh Gulati, a board-certified chronic pain specialist, emphasized that Enso is a powerful tool for regaining mobility and reducing reliance on opioids or injections. Through the Hinge Health platform, Enso 3 integrates with digital exercise therapy, movement feedback, and comprehensive care from a clinical team, delivering an all-in-one solution for pain management.
