ShiftMed Acquires CareerStaff Unlimited to Expand On-Demand Nursing Platform

What You Should Know:

– ShiftMed, a leader in on-demand healthcare workforce technology acquires CareerStaff Unlimited from Genesis HealthCare, a national post-acute care provider.

– The strategic acquisition strengthens ShiftMed’s position as the industry’s first platform to support health systems across all care settings, from hospitals to post-acute care facilities and even in-home care.

CareerStaff Acquisition Impact

The acquisition unites ShiftMed’s innovative on-demand staffing platform with CareerStaff’s established expertise as a managed service provider (MSP) in the healthcare industry. This combined offering will provide significant benefits for both ShiftMed and Genesis HealthCare:

  • Enhanced Services for Genesis:  Under a seven-year exclusive agreement, ShiftMed will deliver staffing solutions to over 1,200 of Genesis’ Powerback Rehabilitation locations and more than 200 skilled nursing facilities.
  • A First for On-Demand Staffing:  ShiftMed positions itself as the first platform to offer healthcare systems comprehensive on-demand staffing solutions across various care settings, including acute care, post-acute care, and even in-home care.

ShiftMed’s “Intelligent Routing” Advantage

ShiftMed’s existing technology adds an additional layer of efficiency.  Their “intelligent routing” system ensures optimal allocation of staffing needs. This system efficiently distributes open shifts among internal staff and the most cost-effective external agencies, further reducing client costs.

“The integration of CareerStaff with ShiftMed allows us to fulfill 100% of our clients’ On Demand needs through one workforce platform. By merging ShiftMed’s acclaimed mobile-first suite of products with CareerStaff’s top-tier MSP solution, we’re establishing the industry’s first end-to-end digital MSP,” said Todd Walrath, CEO of ShiftMed.
