AngelEye Health Bolsters NICU Care with Acquisition of NICU2Home

What You Should Know:

– AngelEye Health, the leading provider of technology for neonatal and pediatric family engagement services, has announced the acquisition of NICU2Home.

– NICU2Home, dedicated to empowering families through technology during their NICU journey, perfectly complements AngelEye’s existing solutions.

A Holistic Approach to NICU Care

By integrating NICU2Home’s expertise, AngelEye expands its solutions to:

  • Seamlessly connect families with their infants: Improved communication tools and resources empower families throughout the NICU journey.
  • Streamline the patient experience: From admission to discharge, both families and clinicians benefit from a more efficient and coordinated care process.

Addressing the Gap in Neonatal Care Coordination

This acquisition tackles a critical challenge in NICU care – the lack of a robust system for discharge coordination. The combined solution offers several advantages:

  • Optimized discharge planning and parent engagement: Ensures families are prepared and supported for the transition home.
  • Enhanced communication: Streamlines information flow between care teams and families, fostering better collaboration.
  • Reduced NICU stays: Improved coordination can potentially lead to shorter hospital stays for infants who are ready to go home.
  • Increased hospital financial efficiency: Streamlined processes can benefit hospitals by optimizing resource allocation.

A Unified Platform for a Consolidated Experience

AngelEye plans to leverage the combined expertise to create a single, integrated platform. This will be achieved by incorporating NICU2Home’s discharge management solution into AngelEye’s existing family engagement platform.  The result?

A consolidated experience for:

  • Care teams: Enhanced workflows and improved communication with families.
  • Healthcare providers: Access to a comprehensive suite of tools to support NICU care.
  • Families: Streamlined access to information, resources, and communication channels.

NICU2Home’s user-friendly mobile app, backed by peer-reviewed research from four Chicago-area NICUs, including Northwestern Medicine, provides families with tools to stay informed and engaged throughout their NICU stay. It offers personalized educational content and insights that empower families to understand their child’s condition better and to engage in the care team.

The combined solution will be available in phases throughout 2024, allowing both new and existing AngelEye customers to benefit from these advancements in NICU care coordination and family engagement.

“At NICU2Home, we’ve dedicated more than twelve years to developing and refining our technology, knowing the profound impact it can have on families navigating the complexities of the NICU journey,” said Dr. Craig Garfield, co-founder and co-PI at NICU2Home. “Partnering with AngelEye, a leader in the field with a vast existing network, is a game-changer. Together, we have the potential to revolutionize NICU care by empowering families and streamlining the transition home. We’re excited to join forces and make this technology accessible to more families across the country.”
