What You Should Know:

– QGenda, a leading provider of healthcare workforce management solutions, announced the launch of QGenda Nurse and Staff Workforce Management, a mobile-first solution that makes it easier to deploy and manage today’s enterprise healthcare workforce.

– Built from the ground up on a single platform, the solution includes healthcare-specific applications for scheduling, time and attendance, compensation management, and workforce analytics.

Introducing Mobile-First Nurse and Staff Workforce Management Solution

QGenda revolutionizes healthcare workforce management everywhere care is delivered. QGenda ProviderCloud, a purpose-built healthcare platform that empowers customers to effectively deploy workforce resources, includes solutions for scheduling, credentialing, on-call scheduling, room and capacity management, time tracking, compensation management, and workforce analytics. More than 4,000 organizations, including leading physician groups, hospitals, academic medical centers, and enterprise health systems, use QGenda to advance workforce scheduling, optimize capacity, and improve access to care.

QGenda Advanced Scheduling for Nurse and Staff expands QGenda’s industry-leading Advanced Scheduling for Providers solution with new tools to create and manage dynamic nurse and staff schedules. Advanced Scheduling, first introduced in 2006, is currently used by more than 650,000 physicians and other healthcare providers, or more than half the providers in the U.S. The visibility offered by a single scheduling solution for all members of the care delivery team ensures appropriate deployment based on needed care team ratios and patient coverage.

“Most healthcare organizations spend too much time creating and changing care team schedules, leading to significant administrative burden and costs, as well as an unhappy and disengaged workforce,” said Greg Benoit, CEO, QGenda. “There are more than 5.8 million nurses in the U.S., representing the largest – and most stressed – group of healthcare professionals. More than half of nurses are considering leaving the healthcare profession altogether. Now is a critical time to deploy a more nimble and innovative approach to workforce management across the healthcare enterprise. Our latest product designed specifically for nurses and staff will help our customers balance supply and demand needs while engaging nurses and staff with more control over their schedules.”

1. Increase visibility and transparency for a more engaged workforce

Self-schedule and self-serve convenience through QGenda Advanced Scheduling for Nurse and Staff ensure nurses can easily see when and where they’re working, update their preferences, and understand where they stand against targets. Streamlined shift swapping and real-time notifications support flexible schedules and drive increased nurse satisfaction.

“Nurses want to be able to manage their own schedules, including the ability to set preferences or sign up for extra shifts and partial shifts when they want,” said Jana Hill, RN, BSN, MSM, director, care logistics, Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center. “QGenda offers a flexible scheduling solution that balances nurse independence with the ability to efficiently meet the needs of each nursing unit from a management perspective. Nursing managers and staffing coordinators have the visibility they need to float staff across service line units, and they can reduce the time and effort required to manage dynamic schedule changes.”

2. Reduce administrative burden

Work pattern automation coupled with robust self-scheduling reduces the time and hands-on work required by nurse managers to create and update schedules. They can change coverage needs dynamically as patient census and acuity changes and seamlessly float staff between departments and between locations, all while ensuring appropriate staff coverage with the right skills on all shifts.

3. Make data-driven workforce planning decisions

With longitudinal insights around staffing targets, labor costs, and staff coverage, healthcare leaders can make better near- and long-term decisions using data-driven executive analytics related to past and current demand and staffing trends.
