What You Should Know: - Today Craneware, a provider of automated value cycle solutions to the healthcare industry, announced it has completed its $400 million acquisition of Sentry Data Systems, a 340B pharmacy administrator, and its sister company, Agilum Healthcare Intelligence, a pharmacy and financial analytics company. - With the deal, Craneware will serve nearly 40% of U.S. hospitals and more than 10,000 hospitals, clinics and retail pharmacies. It also complements Craneware’s focus on revenue cycle solutions by adding hospital pharmacy, one of the fastest areas of cost growth in hospitals, with minimal overlap in products and services. - Craneware envisions major opportunities to cross-sell within existing client bases — roughly 1,800 hospitals for Craneware and 550 for Sentry — and huge potential to develop new products and solutions, backed by Sentry and Agilum’s unmatched longitudinal database of more than 147 million de-identified patient records. Based in Edinburgh, Scotland, Craneware operates its U.S. headquarters in Atlanta and also has a development office in Wexford, Pa. Sentry and Agilum are based in Deerfield Beach, Fla.
